J'aime justement ce changement dans la continuité.
J'ai eu la chance de conduire et posséder une E32, une E38 et une E65.
Le lien entre les générations est évident grâce à un code stylistique reproduit dans les grandes lignes. C'est ce qui fait que ces modèles ne sont jamais dépassés et vieillissent bien.
En tant qu'utilsateurs, on retrouve une ergonomie générale assez similaire qui fait que l'on est chez soi, quelle que soit la version.

des véhicules ectraordinaires en tout cas, à l'image des A8 et classe S.

Je partage ce point de vue et j'aime ''le changement dans la continuité''. Cela permet aux modèles de ne pas être totalement démodés lors de leurs remplacements.
Et puis quand il y eut une rupture stylistique ce fut un démarrage comercial laborieux en aval. Exemple des E60 en 2003. J'avais une //M5 E39 à l'époque et je n'aimais pas la nouvelle caisse. J'en ai achetées trois entre 2006 et 2010 pourtant...

Je suis tout à fait d'accord l'E60 au début tout le monde à eu du mal à s'y faire et finalement une grande partie des clients de la marque à adoré ce modèle par la suite(et moi en premier).

Après L'évolution en douceur c'est tout un art,il suffit de voir comme VAG à réussi ce pari avec la Golf qui est une des voitures les plus vendues au monde...

Il fallait moderniser le modèle sans bousculer les nombreux clients qui sur ce modèle sont plutôt conservateurs.

Je me rappelle la 1ere E60 que j'ai vue. Une 5.30d luxe pack sport noir cuir marron.
Les jantes 5 branches 17' me semblaient minuscules.
La qualité perçue intérieure une catastrophe digne des marques Low cost.
La ligne massive et l'ADN de la marque baffoué.

Et trois ans plus tard, j'adorais cette auto et même encore.
Seule la finition intérieure reste pour moi un point noir. La LCI a un peu arrangé les choses certes...

Quand une ligne ne change pas trop, la clientèle fidèle est au rendez vous immédiatement. Et dans le segment de la 7 c'est sans doute important.

Le meilleur exemple de l'évolution en douceur reste ... la Porsche 911, toujours identifiable au premier coup d'œil par tout le monde et toujours aussi moderne et au top de sa catégorie .

Ci-dessous, pour les anglophones, le témoignage d'un des 70 heureux élus qui a pu voir la nouvelle 7 en avant première au cours d'une soirée privée à Coral Gables (Floride) le 15 avril dernier.

I was pleased to be one of about 70 people in the "world" this evening to view in person the new G12. Was held at a private home in Coral Gables. Out of respect to BMW, there were no photographs allowed whatsoever, and all phones and cameras where checked at the door.

BMW has really stepped up on this car and it was worth the wait!

I went through four 7 series since 2002 and now this is the one I have been waiting for!

The new 2016 BMW 750 LI (G12) passes any expectation I had! It puts Mercedes S550 to shame. The exterior has an aggressive front and elegant modern rear. Incredible chrome details throughout the car inside on the dash, steering wheel, door and out. The new modern LED headlights are beautiful. It feels like a Bentley or Rolls with a sportier edge.

But what really makes this automobile is the interior with the new highly innovative i-drive that works with hand motion, double panel sunroof that lights up, all new electronics, speakers and a real "mood-light" interior light show throughout the vehicle. (different color selections). When you press the key in the evening, you will see a light on the ground by the car, similar to a "red carpet" in the shape of the number 7. so cool!

You can now charge your phone automatically in the center console wirelessly and when you walk away from the car, the i-drive system will remind you to take your phone. They also have the most advanced NEW drivers assistance programs in the world! If you cross the lane by accident, not only will the steering wheel vibrate to warn you but it will bring the vehicle back on your lane automatically. Just one of many new safety features available.

The leather selection and new color ways are better quality and very refreshing! And my favorite is the new Key that gives you your mileage, gas level and more.

Wait till you see the executive rear package with iPad like control panel, amazing built in foot rests and fold in table. You will be able to stream Netflix on the rear monitors.! The future is finally here.

BMW are truly the innovators and just watch the followers follow!

Après le témoignage d'un "happy few" de Floride que j'avais relayé plus haut, voici à présent celui d'un potentiel client de Californie lui aussi invité à une levée de voile en avant-première :

I am one of the lucky west coast customers who was selected to be part of the all new 7 series reveal at a private home on top the cliffs over looking Laguna Beach and the Pacific Ocean. Unfortunately, as many of you may be aware of, I was not able to sneak in my cell phone to snap not even one photo. As soon as we checked in, guards used a metal detector as if we were boarding a flight to Bombay to guarantee no one had a phone hidden on them.

Too bad because the whole thing was very impressive. We were told to park in a reserved parking lot and boarded a shuttle that whisked us away through the winding roads above Laguna Beach. The home where the event was held was beautiful with an outdoor pavilion dedicated to the 7. As well there was a B6 Gran Coupe, i8, and i3 to add more fuel to the fire. Apparently BMW is covering the areas of the U.S. where the 7er sells best such as LA/OC, Miami, Atlanta, Houston, NY-Tri State, etc.

We were able to roam around the home and admire the infinity pool that overlooked the Pacific while sipping on wine and snacking on h'ors deurves. After about 45 minutes there was an announcement for us to convene around the covered 7 series to be prepared for the reveal.

My first impression of the car under the cover is that the new 7er is very large. Like almost Rolls-Royce Ghost large. Peter Miles (Vice President of BMW NA) came up and introduced himself while pressing the fact that we are part of a handful of people in the world who are the first to see the new 7er. After a little more "fluff," two ladies pulled the cover off to reveal a space grey 750i.

My first impression is that the exterior is much less angular and more "organic." The front end resembles the F30 3er with both headlights meeting two very large kidney grills. There is a lot of BMW's Vision Future Concept in this car in the front end and the LED light design mirrors that of the LCI F30. The side chrome trim is one long piece of trim and the traditional hofmeister kink is still there.

The weakest part of the exterior is the rear end. It's very generic and almost Korean like in its appearance. It has soft organic lines that is an evolution of the F01. It's sort of a cross between an F01 and some pseudo luxury Hyundai.

The best part of this car is the interior and all the new tech. A lot of the gadgets are a gimmick but I am truly surprised at how well BMW executed the interior. The S Class, for me, is the standard of this class but BMW has done so well that I may have the nerve to say this is now the new standard. The quality of materials are top notch and there are a lot of S Class like switchgear that is so un BMW-like with the lack of hard black plastic. There is a rear seat package that comes with a Samsung tablet to allow further control of certain functions along with a dual panoramic sunroof that is standard in the US. The cool feature about this is that there are 15,000 laser etched holes in a cover that reflects the ambient color chosen. You now have the option to also have the ambient lighting turned on behind the Bowers & Wilkins metal speaker grills with the LEDs making snail like shapes to reflect the shape of the speaker.

The overall layout is an evolution of a BMW interior with a driver oriented dash with the transmission gear selector remaining on the center console. There are a lot of screens including the A/C control now being touch screen and the new fifth generation iDrive being touch screen as well. The gesture control actually works really well and there are a ton more cameras than what we already have. There is a camera that gives a 3D perspective around the car so now one can see a 3D view of the curb, thus, curb rashes are now a thing of the past. The transmission also reads the roads in the navigation to prepare down shifts when there is an upcoming curve.

There was no mention of the remote parking so I am thinking this feature will not be available for the North American market. If the W222 S Class has a certain feature, the new 7 has it as well. BMW claimed that there are 25 features that are never before seen in any automobile. There is also a cabin fragrance button, similar to the S class. BMW supposedly teamed up with a French perfumery to come up with unique scents.

I would dare say that the new 7er is more technologically advanced than the S class for the most part but now the next step would be to drive the car. The car will be arriving stateside later this fall.

Présentation aujourd'hui de la nouvelle série 7 , franchement bluffant au niveau technologique, bien loin devant la concurrence et pas mal de nouveautés à l'intérieur.
Je n'ai pas pu faire de photo, confidentialité oblige et puis de toute façon on nous a confisqué tous nos téléphones :geek:

Je suis passé voir cette nouvelle série 7 chez le CC,il y avait un modèle exposé très sympa avec une belle configuration:















Si j'avais du choisir une config on ne serait pas loin de celle ci,seul bémol : son prix qui dépasse les 120K€ sur ce modèle...

Franchement, sur ce genre de voiture, il faut être fou pour l'acheter en diesel.
Donc, tu as raison d'essayer d'en avoir une à l'essai en V8 de 450 ch .
